2nd week of August

COWBOY!

Brandon Hantz from Survivor in the blue shirt!

The first heat

GIVE US THE CLUE FOOL!

Training this week: Boot camp (Body Evolution Boot Camps is *THE BEST* by the way), and then my friend Kali and I did something called The Urban Stampede. It's sort of like the Amazing Race, and was TONS of fun. We ran and did obstacles from The Belvedere, to the infield at Churchill Downs, to 4th street Live, the Extreme Park, and even ventured to Slugger Field. Team SUPERGIRL (get a load of those socks!) came in 7th in our heat (out of 21 teams I believe). I even got to meet Cowboy from Big Brother, and Brandon Hantz from survivor! *Woot!*

And you know what else happened this week? I *FINALLY* broke my plateau and have lost 5 pesky little pounds this month. Let's see if I can lose 4 more by the end of the month. In order to do that, I might have to lay off the kettle corn at night. I'll keep ya posted. :)

1st week of August

Did boot camp 3 days this week and ran. Finished a 5k in just over 31 minutes, my personal best! Slacked on blogging.

I'm still here!

2 out of our 3 kids with The Croup and a husband away at a weekend softball tournament makes for one CRAZY momma. This morning I was able to sneak in a 5k run at just over 33 minutes. That's 3 minutes LESS then my first 5k in March (or was it February?) so it's an improvement, but I've got some work to do. Off to give a breathing treatment!

Ran a mile, walked a half. And I totally counteracted any benefits by  eating McDonald's for lunch. Total fail.

Imagine
© Michele Rosa
Imagine there's no cancer,
It's easy if you try,
No pain or suffering,
Or waiting just to die.

Imagine all the people,
Living worry free,
Without that ticking time bomb,
That no one else can see.

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
That hopes the world will be cancer-free,
So we can live as one.

Training for the weekend of July 13-15

Friday: Nada

Saturday: Boot Camp!

Sunday: Ran 2.5 miles in 28 minutes. LONG way to go!

Just a little background to get us started. I started running around September of 2011 with a goal of getting healthier and losing weight. I ran my first road race on Thanksgiving Day, and finished the 2 mile race in just over 26 minutes. Slow, I know but I did it! From there I went on to run a 5k, 10k, 10 miler AND finally The Kentucky Derby Mini Marathon in April 2012. I'm 85 pounds lighter (did I honestly just say that out loud?) with a goal of losing at least 30 more. It's possible that at some point I'll post before, during, and after photos, but I'm much too chicken right now.

I just signed up for the Disney's Princess Half Marathon to benefit the LLS, and I'm on a mission to raise money (notice the DONATE NOW button in the right hand column).
